Hey there! This is Alex Hoffman, the publisher of SOLRAD. I have some big news to share. After months of behind-the-scenes work by the folks at Fieldmouse Press, our parent press, we’re happy to say that we are publishing our first book!
Fieldmouse Press is working with Ariel Bordeaux, the creator of Deep Girl, No Love Lost, and Raisin Pie to publish her new graphic memoir, Clutter: A Scatterbrained Sexual Assault Memoir through Kickstarter. The Kickstarter went live Sunday, July 11 and runs until August 11. The funding goal is set at $8,000.
As you are probably aware, funding for Kickstarter projects is all-or-nothing. So we need to meet our full funding goal or we can’t publish this book. If you are interested in supporting the Kickstarter, please check out the video below!
Some more about the author and the work:
Graduating from the Center For Cartoon Studies in 2012, Ariel wrote Clutter as her senior thesis. Never published, Ariel has added an epilogue and new illustrations to fully complete this project. It’s a devastating account of a horrifying incident as a child, but it’s also a moving story that confronts trauma and how it affects our brains and our emotions in ways we don’t expect. Bordeaux never shies away from what she went through, but her willingness to name and confront it while seeking out comfort and solutions is inspiring.
We hope you are as excited about this next step as I am, and I hope you check out the project and back it if you are interested!
