Enemies of the State is a monthly virtual book club discussion on a recently published comic, featuring a rotating cast of comics critics.
Episode #7 of Enemies of the State features commentary on Kelsey Wroten’s Cannonball, published by Uncivilized Books in 2019. Cannonball features the unlikely rise of Caroline Bertram, a queer art school graduate who aspires to greatness as a self-proclaimed literary genius. But what happens when greatness doesn’t fix the brokenness inside you? Wroten explores the Millenial experience and the hamster wheel of success through a cast of witty queer characters.
The cast for this episode includes the following critics:
- Alex Hoffman, Publisher of SOLRAD
- Daniel Elkin, Editor in Chief of SOLRAD
- Jules Bakes, freelance critic
- Sara L. Jewell, freelance critic
- and Rob Clough, Contributing Editor of SOLRAD
