Today, I’m pleased to announce the launch of our new imprint, SOLRAD PRESENTS. The goal of SOLRAD Presents is to give artists the ability to have a permanent home for comics projects that have previously existed on sites like Instagram or Patreon, or sites that used to function but now no longer do so.
While we know this won’t replace good old-fashioned RSS feeds or webcomics, nor will it replace hubs like Webtoon or Tapas, the team at Fieldmouse Press and SOLRAD want to offer small press cartoonists a place to maintain their work at no cost to them, where they retain all rights in perpetuity, and offer them an additional audience they may not have in other places.
In this time of uncertainty, it seems clear to me that the work of Fieldmouse Press, to support and enrich the comics arts, is more needed than ever. SOLRAD Presents is a small way that we can do that.
Today we’re launching SOLRAD Presents with the first page of Reilly Hadden’s latest comic, Kricket the Cat. Kricket the Cat is an easygoing comic-strip for everyone, and it’s the first selection of I hope what will be many that show the profound variety and strength of comics creators in 2020. Please check out the first page of Reilly’s comic, and follow along every Friday for a new page.
If you are interested in having a comic hosted by SOLRAD as part of our SOLRAD Presents project, please contact me at publisher@solrad.co.
SOLRAD is made possible by the generous donations of readers like you. Support our Patreon campaign, or make a tax-deductible donation to our publisher, Fieldmouse Press, today.
