SOLRAD Presents: x/2+7

Today SOLRAD Presents is pleased to publish the entirety of Mary Shyne’s x/2+7, a comic she wrote while at the Center for Cartoon Studies.

Mary Shyne is a comic artist living in the Bay Area making comics about bikes, feelings, and NYC. Her first graphic novel, Get Over It, can be purchased here. You can find her work on Instagram and Twitter.

CW: grooming, revenge porn

Disclaimer from the Author: I originally wrote x/2+7 as a “fable recreation” assignment in my first year at the Center for Cartoon Studies, using the fable The Turtle and the Scorpion. While I have qualms about having the protagonist exacting revenge on Byron by essentially resorting to “humiliation / revenge porn”, I think it’s important to bear in mind the protagonist is still a minor in high school, and should not be expected to have the maturity / foresight of an adult.
