Happy February, SOLRADers, and happy Lunar New Year! I hope you have been staying safe and well during the last few months. According to Punxsutawney Phil, we’ve got another 6 weeks of winter on the way in the northern hemisphere, and here in the heartland, we’ve been getting pounded by freezing rain and snow. It’s nice for a few weeks, but it gets old after a while. I’m ready to see the sun again.
The US has had an overwhelming outbreak of COVID that appears to finally be subsiding, although health systems are stretched remarkably thin. Please get vaccinated, and if you’re eligible, get your booster shot.
In brighter and sunnier news, I’m pleased to announce that Ed Haynes has joined the SOLRAD team as Assistant Publisher. Ed will be working primarily on the SOLRAD Presents side of the site, as well as other projects down the line as they get more acclimated. Please give them a warm welcome!
Here’s some of the stuff you can look forward to this month on SOLRAD:
- An interview with Manuele Fior by new contributor Pietro Scarnera
- A feature on The Neopian Times, a source of unlikely comics from Neopets users
- A feature on the history of Martin Luther King and the Montgomery Story, the comic that helped spur the Civil Rights Movement
- A review of Boy Meets Maria, a recent release by manga publisher Seven Seas that’s making some waves
Plus many more features, reviews, and great comics from SOLRAD Presents!
That’s all this month! If you have feedback or questions, email me at publisher@solrad.co or on Twitter at @sequentialstate.
